Hi there!! HAPPY Wednesday :D
How are you?! Hope you got my message about not posting on Monday, it was a crazyyyyy busyyyyy day!! How's your week going so far?! It's midweek, while some days may be healthier than others, remember that as long as you're making an effort...it's all good!!

Today's post: 4 WAYS TO MAXIMIZE NATURE'S BODY BENEFITS! Keep reading and live healthy :)

1. GET OUTSIDE FIRST THING. People who get outdoors in the morning have lower BMIs (meaning, they have less body fat) than those who don't, according to a report in PLOS One. Also, morning sunlight, specifically those rays you see shortly after sunrise, has a strong stabilizing effect on your body clock, which regulates metabolism and energy levels :)

2. MAKE QUICKIE JAUNTS ALL DAY. A mere 5 minutes of being in fresh air can improve your mood and self-esteem, according to a study in Environmental Science and Technology. Your goal is to take a mini blue-sky break 3 or 4 times a day, says naturopath Alan C. Logan, author of Your Brain On Nature. And you don't have to be super active on them, either: Just looking at mountains, forests, and other natural landscapes (a city park will do too) increases activity in the areas of the brain that control HAPPY memories and stress reduction, found researchers from Chonnam National University in South Korea :)

3. LET YOURSELF FEEL CHILLY. As soon as you start to feel the cold, the weight-loss perks of outdoor time kick in. Temperatures of 63 degrees and lower will both increase activity in brown fat (the "good" calorie burning kind), and have been linked to reductions in total body fat, according to research from Japan and the Netherlands :)

4. EXERCISE IN FRESH AIR. Nature can motivate! When you exercise outdoors, you tend to work harder and feel more powerful than when you workout inside, a study in Psychology of Sports and Exercise reports. Your immunity gets a boost from outdoor activity too!! Walking in wooded areas can even increase the function of cancer-fighting white blood cells, according to research from the Nippon Medical School in Tokyo :)

Are you up for a challenge?! Do your exercises outdoors for the rest of this week! Put on some spandex and sneakers and ROCK OUT your workout!! Need more motivation?! You burn 7% more calories in cold temperatures!! I'll be up and training at 5:30 am...what about you?! :D
Have a PRODUCTIVE couple of days!
Be sure to check back in on Fridayyyyy!!
