HAPPY Monday :D
I hope you had a great weekend!! I'm ROCKING my Monday and starting the week STRONG! Wooo Whooo!! What about you?! Have you been exercising lately?! Did you know that 70% of people that start a fitness plan quit?! EXCEPT YOU...not this time! :D

Sometimes goals often get tossed to the wayside when we're caught up in the moment and forget about the BIGGER picture! When the impulse to procrastinate arises, remind yourself of what is really important to you!!

What's your motivation personality?! Identifying what drives you is essential to coming up with a plan you'll stick to. Read the following and see which category you fall into:

YOU WORK OUT BECAUSE...
You want to lose weight but you really hate exercising.

GET MOTIVATED.
Invest in some form-fitting workout clothes! Bring it on!! According to researchers at Springfield College, most new exercisers go for baggy clothes. But the excess fabric hampers our movement, which can make us feel even worse about a sweat session. Show some skin :D

AVOID OVER FIXATING ON INCHES LOST.
The real measure of success should be how we feel after our workouts! I hope this is appropriate to say...i get the BIGGEST HIGH after a workout...lol!

YOU WORK OUT BECAUSE...
You want to establish a healthy routine, but you're uninspired by solo workouts.

GET MOTIVATED.
Move to the front of the exercise class and connect with the instructor! If we're an externally motivated people pleaser by nature, making nice with the teacher can keep us involved. The Springfield investigators also found that hiding out in the back of the studio, where we can't see or hear what's going on, prevents us from learning and feeling competent.

AVOID DRILL-SERGEANT INSTRUCTORS.
The "drop and give me 20" punishment approach isn't positive or empowering! I personally enjoy being pushed BUT not like this ;)

YOU WORK OUT BECAUSE...
Fitness is 1 of your core values AND besides, you love it!

GET (EVEN MORE) MOTIVATED.
If going to the gym isn't an option, have a go-to home routine available such as running/walking around the block a few times or doing lunges and squats in the living room. Researchers at the University of Alberta found that even for people who love to exercise, scheduling regular workouts at the gym still can be a challenge. Having a plan B will maintain our momentum when other commitments threaten to derail us. We're all busy BUT even a short sweat session is better then doing nothing!

AVOID OVERDOING IT.
Sometimes taking workouts too seriously can take all the fun out of them. Don't beat yourself up! We're a work in progress, which means we get there a little at a time, not all at once!! Enjoy the process :D

Yogi Berra once said about baseball, "Ninety percent of this game is half mental." The famously malapropism-prone New York Yankee might also have been talking about sticking to a workout routine...half the battle is actually putting on our athletic shoes!
I believe with MOTIVATION we can overcome obstacles that come our way and remember the BIGGER picture :D

Now that you're done reading this...what are you waiting for?! :D PUMP up your favorite music and start SWEATING...lol!
See you on Wednesday!!
